The abnormal absence of blocks for 25 minutes, in a network aiming for block times of 400 milliseconds, caused concern.

“Solana’s Mainnet-Beta is experiencing performance degradation, with block progression currently halted. Engineers and validators are actively investigating,” stated Solana Laine, one of the validators.

This episode is the latest in a series of malfunctions that have struck Solana since 2022, highlighting ongoing challenges with network stability.

The origins of the downtime remain unclear. Solana’s engineers were urgently mobilized to diagnose the cause of the outage and explore solutions.
